Carnival Cruise Line Adds New Cat in the Hat Experiences and Expands Seuss at Sea Program

Sharing is caring!

Carnival Cruise Line is celebrating the release of the new The Cat in the Hat movie with special family-friendly activities across 23 ships, along with two new experiences joining its popular Seuss at Sea program.

The limited-time celebrations coincide with the theatrical release of Warner Bros. Pictures Animation’s The Cat in the Hat on November 6, 2026.

From giant inflatable hats and Hollywood-style premiere parties to themed activities for kids, Carnival is bringing even more Dr. Seuss-inspired fun to sea.

The celebration also marks 15 years of Carnival’s partnership with Dr. Seuss, which has become a popular part of the cruise line’s family entertainment offerings.

In the two weeks leading up to the movie’s release, Carnival is offering a variety of special activities and surprises on 23 ships.

Here are some of the experiences families may find onboard:

Giant Cat in the Hat Inflatables

Guests sailing on select Carnival ships may be greeted by enormous 40-foot-tall Cat in the Hat inflatables displayed on the open decks during embarkation.

Hollywood-Style Premiere Parties

Carnival is rolling out the red-and-white striped carpet for special movie premiere celebrations in ship atriums. These parties feature balloon drops, appearances by Dr. Seuss characters, family entertainment, crafts and other themed activities.

Surprise Gifts Delivered to Cabins

Some lucky families may receive special Cat in the Hat surprises delivered directly to their cruise cabins. These could include themed postcards, snack packs, invitations to exclusive character meet-and-greets and other giveaways.

Cat in the Hat Build-A-Bear Experiences

Carnival’s onboard Build-A-Bear Workshop is also getting a Dr. Seuss makeover. Families can participate in themed workshops featuring Thing 1 and Thing 2 outfits for their bears, along with a special Cat in the Hat furry friend.

Special Camp Ocean Activities

Kids participating in Carnival’s Camp Ocean youth program can enjoy several new Cat in the Hat-themed games and challenges. Activities include The Cat’s Messy Room Mission, The Cat’s Stacking Challenge and The Cat’s Rhyme-O-Rama.

Movie-Themed Photo Opportunities

Families can also capture memories with special movie-themed photo opportunities, including green screen experiences inspired by The Cat in the Hat.

Beyond the limited-time movie celebrations, Carnival is expanding its existing Seuss at Sea entertainment program with two new interactive activities.

The program already includes popular experiences such as the Seuss-a-palooza Character Parade and Story Time, Thing 1 & Thing 2 Birthday Breakfast and Dr. Seuss Bookville.

The two new additions are designed to get the whole family involved.

Seuss-a-palooza Game Time

This new interactive theater experience features Dr. Seuss-inspired music, dancing, tongue twisters, games and family-friendly challenges. Game Time takes place before the popular Seuss-a-palooza Story Time, adding even more entertainment to the experience.

Seuss-a-palooza Family Time

Carnival is also introducing Seuss-a-palooza Family Time, an interactive activity where parents and children can participate together. Families will be encouraged to move like their favorite Dr. Seuss characters, act out scenes from beloved books and compete in Seuss-themed charades.

Carnival Cruise Line’s partnership with Dr. Seuss has been bringing beloved storybook characters to life onboard for 15 years.

According to Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy, the new experiences are another opportunity for families to make lasting vacation memories.

“We’ve seen millions of children light up as they experience the world of Dr. Seuss aboard our ships, and we’re excited to give families even more ways to create those special memories together,” said Duffy.

“Celebrating the new ‘The Cat in the Hat’ movie adds a fun new chapter to our 15-year partnership and brings more family entertainment to life across our ships.”

Will These New Activities Be Available on Every Carnival Cruise?

While Carnival’s special Cat in the Hat movie celebrations are taking place across 23 ships, not every activity will be available on every sailing.

The cruise line notes that availability and timing vary by ship and itinerary. Families sailing during the promotional period should check their onboard activity schedules for details about the special events.

The two new Seuss-a-palooza experiences are being added to Carnival’s broader Seuss at Sea program, offering more opportunities for families to enjoy interactive entertainment together.

Final Thoughts

Carnival Cruise Line has long been known for its family-friendly atmosphere, and these new Dr. Seuss activities add another fun option for families cruising with young children. While the movie-themed celebrations are limited-time events, the expansion of Seuss at Sea gives families even more activities to look forward to on future Carnival cruises.

For families who love Dr. Seuss, especially those traveling with younger children, these new experiences could be a fun addition to their cruise vacation.

Happy cruising!
