If you’ve ever dreamed of experiencing the glamorous golden age of travel, this might be your chance. Holland America Line and the legendary Pan Am® have joined forces to create a one-of-a-kind voyage that celebrates heritage, elegance, and exploration across the Caribbean, Mexico, and Latin America in unforgettable style.
A Tribute to Travel’s Golden Era

Set to depart on October 30, 2027, the Pan Am 100th Anniversary Legendary Voyage aboard Zuiderdam will retrace the original Pan Am Clipper routes that helped define modern travel. The month-long cruise begins in Miami, Florida, Pan Am’s historic home base, and visits 18 incredible destinations across the region.
This journey is far from an ordinary Caribbean cruise. Guests will travel beyond the usual ports and experience immersive destinations that showcase the cultures, histories, and natural beauty that shaped the Caribbean and Latin America.
According to Paul Grigsby, Vice President of Itinerary Planning and Deployment for Holland America Line, “Pan Am and Holland America Line both helped pioneer modern travel, Pan Am in the skies and Holland America Line at sea. This collaboration is a tribute to the golden age of travel and humanity’s enduring drive to explore.”
Where Clippers Once Soared

In the 1930s and 1940s, Pan Am’s iconic Clipper flying boats revolutionized global travel by connecting the Americas by air and landing directly in harbors before airports existed. Passengers dined on fine china, socialized in lounges, and enjoyed a level of luxury that came to symbolize the sophistication of the era.
Holland America Line plans to bring that same nostalgia to sea. Onboard Zuiderdam, guests will be surrounded by period-inspired décor, vintage-style entertainment, and elegant dining experiences that capture the look and feel of travel’s golden age.
Craig Carter, CEO of Pan American World Airways, explained, “From multi-course meals served on fine china to lounges for socializing, Pan Am’s Clippers were the pinnacle of travel’s golden age. We’re thrilled to bring that experience back to life at sea, 100 years after our first flight.”
The Itinerary: 18 Destinations and 9 Original Pan Am Ports
The Zuiderdam will depart from Miami and trace Pan Am’s famed Great Circle Route, visiting a remarkable collection of destinations both familiar and rarely seen on typical itineraries. Guests will begin their journey in Nassau, Bahamas, one of Pan Am’s earliest routes, before exploring destinations such as San Juan, Puerto Rico, St. John’s, Antigua, and Willemstad, Curaçao.
As the voyage continues, travelers will sail to vibrant locales including Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago, Castries in St. Lucia, Cartagena and Santa Marta in Colombia, and Colon in Panama. The itinerary also includes visits to Belize City, Costa Rica, and two stops in Mexico, Cozumel and Progreso (Mérida), before returning to Miami.
Nearly half of the ports on this itinerary were part of Pan Am’s original network, allowing travelers to follow in the flight paths of the world’s first global airline.
Honoring American Heritage and the 250th Anniversary

This collaboration between Holland America Line and Pan Am is part of the cruise line’s broader celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. The brand plans to mark this milestone with partnerships that highlight iconic names in American history and travel innovation.
Kacy Cole, Holland America Line’s Chief Marketing Officer, shared, “By partnering with these legendary names, we’re honoring the spirit of innovation, adventure, and pride that defines the nation, and bringing that legacy to life for our guests.”
The Pan Am voyage joins other special sailings and commemorative events leading up to 2026, including a symbolic Independence Day cruise departing from Boston on July 4, 2026.
