Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has introduced its latest ship, the Norwegian Luna™, a part of the Prima Plus Class fleet, marking the company’s 21st ship. Now open for bookings, the Norwegian Luna is set to begin sailing roundtrip from Miami in April 2026, offering a range of exciting Caribbean itineraries.
David J. Herrera, president of NCL, shared his enthusiasm about the new vessel, stating, “The debut of Norwegian Luna truly showcases our ongoing commitment to providing guests more of what they enjoy and value – a brand-new ship with the latest, innovative offerings sailing to the beautiful, tropical destinations of the Caribbean.”
Inaugural Caribbean Voyages Starting April 2026
The Norwegian Luna will kick off its inaugural season with two Western Caribbean itineraries. These cruises will stop at popular destinations like Roatan Island in Honduras, Costa Maya and Cozumel in Mexico, and Harvest Caye, NCL’s private resort-style destination in Belize.
Later in the year, the ship will shift to seven-day voyages to the Eastern Caribbean, visiting Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic), Tortola (British Virgin Islands), St. Thomas (U.S. Virgin Islands), and Great Stirrup Cay (Bahamas). This Bahamian private island, owned by NCL, will feature a brand-new pier by late 2025.
A Bigger and More Luxurious Design
At 1,056 feet long and weighing 156,300 gross tons, the Norwegian Luna is approximately 10% larger than its predecessors, Norwegian Prima® and Norwegian Viva®. The ship will accommodate around 3,550 guests, offering more space and luxurious amenities.
As a twin sister ship to Norwegian Aqua, which will be launched in March 2025, the Norwegian Luna will feature world-class interior designs by top architects such as AD Associates, Piero Lissoni, Rockwell Group, SMC Design, and Studio Dado.
Herrera highlighted the vessel’s inspiration, saying, “Inspired by the relationship between the moon and the tides of the ocean, we are excited to introduce Norwegian Luna as the vessel that perfectly complements her sister ship, Norwegian Aqua.”
Stunning Hull Art by Street Artist ELLE
One of the standout features of the Norwegian Luna is its striking hull art, designed by acclaimed street artist ELLE. Her piece, titled La Luna, explores humanity’s connection with the moon and celestial forces.
ELLE, who has collaborated with brands like Nike, Reebok, and Ralph Lauren, shared, “I’m thrilled to partner with Norwegian Cruise Line who has been known for showcasing stunningly designed hull art across its entire fleet,” said ELLE. “It’s been an incredible experience crafting this piece and knowing my 1,056-foot piece of artwork will sail across the seas, traveling the globe for all to see.”

Exciting Onboard Attractions: Aqua Slidecoaster and More
The Norwegian Luna will introduce several thrilling onboard experiences, including the Aqua Slidecoaster, a hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide that promises to be the longest and fastest slide at sea. This high-energy attraction will have two separate courses with three stories of twists and turns around the ship’s funnel, powered by a magnetic lift.
In addition, the ship will feature the Glow Court, a high-tech digital sports complex offering interactive activities by day and transforming into a nightclub in the evening. Fans of NCL will also find popular features returning, such as The Drop, the ship’s famous 10-story free-fall slide, and The Stadium, an outdoor activity space that offers complimentary games and activities.
Luxury Accommodations: Three-Bedroom Duplex Haven Suites
For those seeking top-tier luxury, the Norwegian Luna will debut the all-new Three-Bedroom Duplex Haven Suites. First announced for the Norwegian Aqua, these exclusive two-story suites are part of the Haven by Norwegian®, NCL’s keycard-access-only complex. The suites will include separate living and dining areas, three bathrooms, and a private balcony. Guests staying in the Haven will enjoy 24-hour butler service, a concierge team, access to a private sundeck, infinity pool, glass-walled sauna, two hot tubs, a private lounge, and an exclusive bar with rare spirits.
Dining and Bar Options
Onboard dining will be a culinary adventure, with exciting new venues like Sukhothai, a specialty Thai restaurant featuring traditional and creative dishes. The ship’s Indulge Food Hall will offer 10 food stations, including a plant-based option called Planterie. Returning NCL favorites include Cagney’s Steakhouse, Le Bistro (French cuisine), and Onda by Scarpetta (Italian).
Guests can also relax at several trendy bars and lounges, including the Whiskey Bar, Belvedere Bar, and Metropolitan, NCL’s award-winning Sail & Sustain cocktail bar. Metropolitan was recognized with the 2024 Vibe Vista Award for “Best Beverage Menu.”
A Relaxing Ocean Experience
The Norwegian Luna will feature several areas designed for relaxation and enjoying ocean views. Guests can stroll along Ocean Boulevard, a 46,000-square-foot outdoor walkway that wraps around the ship, offering stunning views of the sea. The adults-only Vibe Beach Club will provide an open-air lounge experience, while Infinity Beach will offer tranquil spots to take in sweeping views of the ocean. Additionally, the ship will have an expansive upper pool deck with day beds perfect for lounging and soaking up the sun.
More to Come
Additional features and experiences aboard the Norwegian Luna will be unveiled throughout 2025, offering future cruisers plenty of reasons to get excited about this latest addition to the NCL fleet.
As Herrera summed up, “It’s important to give our guests more to see, more to do, more to enjoy on board and ultimately more out of their cruise vacation. We can’t wait for them to experience Norwegian Luna.”
