Norwegian Cruise Line has officially opened bookings for Norwegian Aura, the newest and largest ship in its fleet. This new Prima Class ship is designed to be more spacious, more immersive, and more family focused than anything NCL has launched before.
Norwegian Aura will debut in Europe in May 2027 before homeporting in Miami beginning in June 2027.
A New Standard for Size, Design and Experiences

Norwegian Aura will measure nearly 1,130 feet long, weigh 169,000 gross tons, and accommodate 3,840 guests at double occupancy. That makes her approximately 10 percent larger than sister ships Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna.
The increase in size translates into more open space, expanded venues, and thoughtfully designed areas that feel less crowded. The centerpiece of the ship is Ocean Heights, a brand-new open-air activities complex designed to transition seamlessly from energetic daytime fun to a glowing, relaxed atmosphere at night.
Ocean Heights: Where the Action Lives

Spanning decks 18 through 21, Ocean Heights will be the ultimate hub for multi-generational fun and adventure.
Highlights include:
- Five waterslides, the most on any NCL ship
- Eclipse Racers, the brand’s first dueling mat racer waterslides
- Aura Free Fall, a trapdoor-style body slide with a 250-foot plunge
- The Wave, a pendulum-style raft slide for up to four guests
- The Drop, NCL’s signature dry slide spanning 10 decks
- An 82-foot ropes course with panoramic ocean views
- A rock climbing wall
- Mini golf and carnival-style games
- NCL’s first overhanging private cabanas overlooking Vibe Beach Club
- A full-service bar within the complex
Ocean Heights is designed to be a destination in itself, not just a pass-through area.
Ocean Boulevard Gets Bigger and Better
Located on deck eight, Ocean Boulevard is the wraparound outdoor promenade that has become a hallmark of Prima Class ships. On Norwegian Aura, this space has been expanded by 11 percent compared to Aqua and Luna.
New features include additional hot tubs, expanded seating, a brand-new bar, and a larger Infinity Beach with luxe daybeds and wading pools.
The area will also feature dedicated youth spaces:
- Adventure Alley for kids ages six to ten
- A Teen Hangout with a wave and surf themed photo wall
- Little Explorer’s Cove for younger children ages two to six
Pools, Sun Decks and Relaxation Spaces

Norwegian Aura will feature the largest pool deck in the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet, offering more than 20 percent additional space compared to previous Prima Class ships.
Guests can expect:
- Increased seating capacity
- Extra open lounge areas
- An additional infinity hot tub
- A larger LED entertainment screen
Families will enjoy the Kids Aqua Park near Ocean Heights, complete with splash features and two family-friendly slides. On deck 19, Horizon Park will offer outdoor lawn games and relaxed seating.
Vibe Beach Club, NCL’s adults-only retreat, will be 15 percent larger and will include expanded seating, infinity hot tubs, waterfall features, and a centrally located bar.
The Haven by Norwegian: Elevated Luxury at Sea
Norwegian Aura will feature 1,976 staterooms, including 159 suites within The Haven by Norwegian. This represents the largest Haven offering in the fleet, with 30 percent more suites than on previous Prima Class ships.
Designed by Italian designer Piero Lissoni, The Haven includes:
- Private keycard access and exclusive elevators
- A dedicated sundeck with infinity pool, hot tubs, sauna, and cold room
- The Haven Restaurant, open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- A private bar and lounge designed as a tranquil, nature-inspired oasis
- 24-hour butler and concierge service
- Priority embarkation, disembarkation, and onboard reservations
Caribbean Itineraries and Private Island Stops

Once Norwegian Aura begins sailing from Miami, she will offer seven-day Caribbean itineraries. Every voyage will include a stop at either Great Stirrup Cay or Harvest Caye.
Great Stirrup Cay is undergoing major enhancements, including:
- Great Life Lagoon with swim-up bars and a kids splash area
- Vibe Shore Club, an adults-only beachfront retreat
- Coming in 2026, Great Tides Waterpark featuring 19 waterslides, cliff jumps, and a dynamic river
From the Mediterranean to Miami
Before homeporting in Miami, Norwegian Aura will sail a seven-day Mediterranean voyage from Trieste to Barcelona on May 21, 2027. Ports of call include Valletta, Salerno, and Rome (Civitavecchia).
After a transatlantic crossing, Norwegian Aura will sail Eastern Caribbean itineraries from June through October 2027, followed by Western Caribbean cruises during the winter 2027 and 2028 season.
Hull Art Designed to Shine

Norwegian Aura will feature a striking hull art design by international artist Rosie Woods. Inspired by celestial light and bioluminescent seas, the artwork reflects movement, energy, and illumination, bringing a modern visual identity to the ship.
Final Thoughts
Norwegian Aura is not just bigger. It is more intentional, more flexible, and better designed for how people actually cruise today. With expanded outdoor spaces, family-friendly attractions, and elevated luxury options, this ship is set to become a standout in the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet.
