Cruise lovers have something new to be excited about! Royal Caribbean Group has announced a new policy that will make cruising even better for loyal passengers.

Starting soon, members from its three major brands – Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea – will have their loyalty status matched across all brands. This means you can enjoy the perks you’ve earned, no matter which brand you choose to sail with.

A Big Change for Cruise Loyalty Programs

For a long time, cruise fans have wanted more flexibility with their loyalty benefits. Usually, loyalty perks were tied to individual brands, so if you switched brands, you lost out on your rewards. The new Royal Caribbean Group Loyalty Status Match program changes that.

Now, members of Royal Caribbean’s Crown & Anchor Society, Celebrity Cruises’ Captain’s Club, and Silversea’s Venetian Society can enjoy the same level of benefits across all three brands, an upgrade from the past status match that was available only between Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises.

“We want to give our guests experiences that fit all of life’s moments,” said Jason Liberty, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group. “Our new Loyalty Status Match program is the first of its kind in the cruise industry and rewards our guests for traveling across our brands.”

Why This Matters

This new program makes traveling easier and more enjoyable. It gives you access to a wider range of vacation options and destinations.

For example, if you are a Venetian Society member with 250 VS Days and have a trip planned on Celebrity Cruises, you can join Captain’s Club and get Elite status, enjoying all the perks that come with it.

Program Highlights:

  • Seamless Status Recognition: Members of Crown & Anchor Society, Captain’s Club, and Venetian Society can get their status matched across all three brands after signing up for each program.
  • Onboard Benefits: Guests will enjoy the benefits offered by each brand for their equivalent tier status.
  • Effortless Tier Matching: Guests already enrolled in multiple loyalty programs will be automatically matched across brands within 7 days.
  • Enhanced Travel Experience: The status match lets guests choose from a wider range of vacation experiences and destinations.

What This Means for Cruisers

For passengers, this is great news. It gives you more flexibility and freedom when choosing your next cruise, while still enjoying the benefits you’ve earned. If you want to try a different experience with a different brand, you can do so without feeling like you’re losing your perks.

What Cruisers Need to Do

Starting June 5, 2024, loyalty members can take advantage of this new program. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Enroll in Each Program: Members of Crown & Anchor Society, Captain’s Club, and Venetian Society need to sign up for each program to receive the status match.
  2. Automatic Matching: Guests already enrolled in multiple loyalty programs will be automatically matched across brands within 7 days.
  3. Enjoy the Benefits: Once matched, you can start enjoying the equivalent tier benefits on any of the three brands.

Will Other Cruise Lines Follow Suit?

This move by Royal Caribbean Group has the potential to set a new standard in the cruise industry. It raises the question: Will other major cruise companies do the same?

Companies like Carnival Corporation, which includes Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, Cunard Line, Seabourn, and Costa Cruises, might feel the pressure to create similar programs. Such a change would be welcomed by passengers who often cruise with different brands under the same company.
