Carnival Legend Debuts New “From Sea to Shining Sea” Bow Crest After Dry Dock

Sharing is caring!

Carnival Cruise Line is rolling out a new look across much of its U.S. fleet, and Carnival Legend is the first ship to show it off.

The ship has officially returned to service after a 16-day dry dock in Freeport, debuting Carnival’s new “From Sea to Shining Sea” bow crest just ahead of Memorial Day weekend.

The new design is part of Carnival’s continued branding as “America’s Cruise Line” and is inspired by the patriotic song “America the Beautiful.”

Carnival Legend emerged from dry dock with a fresh new bow crest that Carnival says celebrates the landscapes and oceans the cruise line shares with guests across the United States.

The new “From Sea to Shining Sea” crest will eventually be added to Carnival’s U.S. fleet during scheduled dry docks and new ship builds.

Carnival Magic is expected to be the next ship to receive the new crest. The ship is scheduled to return to PortMiami from dry dock on May 26.

Which Carnival Ships Will Get the New Crest?

Carnival says the new bow crest will roll out across Carnival’s U.S. ships during dry docks and new builds.

However, there are two exceptions.

Carnival Jubilee and Carnival Tropicale, which is coming in 2028, will not feature the “From Sea to Shining Sea” crest. Instead, these ships display the Texas star on their bows.

This means cruisers can expect to see the new patriotic design gradually appear on more Carnival ships as they go through future dry dock updates.

Carnival Says the Crest Celebrates Its U.S. Roots

Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, said the new crest reinforces Carnival’s identity as America’s Cruise Line.

“With the debut of this new crest, we’re reinforcing what guests have long known: Carnival is proud to be America’s Cruise Line,” said Duffy. “We sail coast to coast and connect with millions of guests every year, and this crest reflects the reach of our brand across the U.S. – from the communities we visit to the memories we help create at sea.”

The timing of the debut is also significant, as Carnival introduced the new design ahead of Memorial Day weekend and as the cruise line prepares for America250 celebrations.

To mark the occasion, Carnival invited veterans from the Miami Veteran Affairs Healthcare System to view Carnival Legend’s new bow crest.

The veterans also received Carnival’s America250 challenge coins in honor of their service.

Carnival says it hosts more active-duty military members and veterans than any other cruise line. The cruise line also holds military appreciation gatherings on every North American sailing.

Carnival Preparing for America250 Celebrations

The new crest arrives as Carnival Cruise Line prepares to celebrate America250, the 250th anniversary of the United States.

From June 4 to July 4, guests sailing across the Carnival fleet can expect patriotic activities and events onboard.

These will include:

  • Trivia
  • Crafts
  • Ship meet-ups
  • July 4 fireworks viewing events on both coasts

The celebrations will lead up to Independence Day, with ship meet-ups timed around July 4 fireworks displays.

Final Thoughts

Carnival Legend’s new “From Sea to Shining Sea” bow crest marks the beginning of a fleetwide design update for many Carnival ships based in the U.S.

For Carnival cruisers, this is one of those visible changes that will be easy to spot in port, especially as more ships receive the new crest during future dry docks.

What do you think of Carnival’s new patriotic bow design? Would you like to see more cruise ships add special regional or national touches to their exterior design?

Happy cruising!
