Norwegian Cruise Line has officially introduced its newest ship, Norwegian Luna, as she begins welcoming her first guests in Europe. The highly anticipated vessel set sail on her inaugural transatlantic voyage from Rome on March 10, 2026, giving cruisers an early look at the ship’s next generation design and onboard experiences.

Norwegian Luna will soon make her U.S. debut in Miami on March 23, 2026, where she will kick off her first Caribbean season with a series of short Bahamas cruises and longer Eastern Caribbean itineraries.

A First Look at Norwegian Luna’s Modern Design

Newly released images and videos reveal a ship designed with flexibility and ease in mind. Norwegian Luna features wide open outdoor spaces that connect guests to the ocean, along with intimate areas that offer opportunities to relax and recharge. The overall design blends contemporary style with practical spaces that cater to both active travelers and those seeking a slower paced vacation.

According to Norwegian Cruise Line leadership, the ship was created to give guests the freedom to vacation their own way while spending meaningful time with family and friends.

Standout Attractions Designed for Multigenerational Travel

Aqua Slidecoaster and Top Deck Thrills

Building on the success of Norwegian Aqua, the new ship introduces several headline attractions. One of the most talked about features is the Aqua Slidecoaster, a hybrid ride that combines the excitement of a waterslide with rollercoaster elements. The attraction has already received industry recognition as a top water park style experience at sea.

Guests will also find Luna Midway, an outdoor amusement style area inspired by classic carnival games. Another active highlight is Moon Climber, a multi level obstacle course designed for both kids and adults. Horizon Park offers a more relaxed option with complimentary lawn style games and open recreational space on the upper decks.

Relaxation Spaces and Adults Only Retreats

For travelers looking to unwind, Norwegian Luna offers a two story Mandara Spa complete with saunas, treatment rooms and a Thermal Suite featuring sweeping ocean views. Adults can also escape to the Vibe Beach Club, which includes loungers, private cabanas and a bar for cocktails in a quieter setting.

Accommodations range from studio cabins for solo travelers to suites in The Haven, Norwegian’s private ship within a ship complex that features its own restaurant, lounge and sun deck along with butler and concierge service.

Entertainment and Dining Experiences Onboard

Norwegian Luna introduces new in house productions developed by the cruise line’s creative team. Guests can enjoy Elton: A Celebration of Elton John, a concert style tribute to the iconic performer. Another featured show is HIKO: Innovation Meets Wonder, a multimedia performance combining contemporary dance with cirque style acrobatics.

Dining options include several complimentary venues such as Hudson’s, the Commodore Room and Indulge Food Hall, which offers globally inspired cuisine. Specialty restaurants add further variety, with choices that range from Thai flavors at Sukhothai to Italian dishes at Onda by Scarpetta. Guests can also enjoy French cuisine at Le Bistro and classic steakhouse favorites at Cagney’s.

Caribbean Itineraries and Private Island Experiences

Bahamas and Eastern Caribbean Sailings in 2026

Following her christening in Miami on March 27, 2026, Norwegian Luna will sail three and four day Bahamas cruises as well as seven day Eastern Caribbean voyages. Ports of call will include Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands and the cruise line’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay.

Recent upgrades to Great Stirrup Cay include a new pier and tram service for easier access. Guests will also find the Great Life Lagoon pool complex with swim up bars and cabanas, along with the adults only Vibe Shore Club.

A major new addition called Great Tides Waterpark is expected to open in summer 2026, featuring 19 waterslides, a nearly 800 foot lazy river style attraction and a large splash zone for families.

Western Caribbean and Future Deployment Plans

Beginning in November 2026, Norwegian Luna will transition to Western Caribbean itineraries with calls to Roatán in Honduras, Cozumel in Mexico and Harvest Caye in Belize, another resort style private destination.

Looking ahead, the ship is scheduled to debut in New York City on April 6, 2027. From there, she will offer four to seven day Bermuda cruises that include overnight stays at the Royal Naval Dockyard, giving guests more time to explore the island.

With innovative attractions, flexible spaces and a wide range of itineraries, Norwegian Luna represents the next step in the cruise line’s evolving fleet. From thrilling top deck experiences to relaxing adults only retreats and new entertainment productions, the ship aims to appeal to a broad mix of travelers planning their next cruise vacation.
