Before making its U.S. debut, Norwegian Aqua will embark on a series of inaugural European sailings, followed by a transatlantic voyage from Southampton, U.K., on March 28, 2025. It will then arrive in the U.S. on April 4, 2025, with special inaugural events in Boston and New York City before being officially christened in Miami on April 13, 2025.

Emmy-winning actor Eric Stonestreet, best known for his role as Cameron Tucker in Modern Family, will serve as the ship’s godfather.

For its first year of sailings, Norwegian Aqua will offer exciting itineraries, including:

From Miami & Port Canaveral (Orlando, FL)

  • Short voyages to the Bahamas.
  • 7-day Caribbean itineraries, with stops in Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, and NCL’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay.
  • A new pier is set to open on Great Stirrup Cay in late 2025, making it even easier for guests to explore this tropical paradise.

From New York City (August & September 2025)

  • Bermuda cruises during the peak summer season, featuring overnight stays for more time to explore world-class golf courses, stunning underground caves, and vibrant island culture.

Now, the focus shifts to the ship’s luxurious interior, setting the stage for its highly anticipated launch in spring 2026.

David J. Herrera, President of Norwegian Cruise Line, stated:

“We are deeply grateful to Fincantieri for its partnership and expertise in bringing Norwegian Aqua to life, paving the way for NCL’s continued growth and success. And with Norwegian Luna’s float out, we’re already looking ahead to the next chapter of our fleet expansion.”
