Princess Cruises today announced that Camila and Matthew McConaughey, co-founders of Pantalones Organic Tequila, will serve as the official godparents of the new Star Princess.
In a tradition that has included such icons as Princess Diana, Audrey Hepburn, and Sophia Loren, the McConaugheys will christen the line’s most innovative ship during a celebratory naming ceremony in Fort Lauderdale on November 6.

A New Era of Cruising with Star Princess
The 177,800-ton, 4,300-guest Star Princess is the sister ship to the award-winning Sun Princess.
Highlights include:
- The Sanctuary Collection: an elevated private escape featuring an exclusive restaurant, the Sanctuary Club adults-only pool deck, and curated luxury amenities.
- 1,500+ Balcony Staterooms: offering panoramic views across the globe.
- Signature Venues: The Dome, a next-generation relaxation and entertainment space; The Princess Arena, the cruise line’s most technologically advanced theater; and The Piazza, with its striking design and ocean vistas.
Princess Cruises’ partnership with Pantalones Organic Tequila will also shine onboard. Guests can enjoy signature cocktails such as the 24K Gold Margarita, part of the line’s Love Line Premium Liquors collection.
Inaugural Sailings
Star Princess will debut October 4, 2025, in the Mediterranean, sailing roundtrip from Barcelona. She will then cross the Atlantic to begin Caribbean voyages from Fort Lauderdale on November 7, 2025. In spring 2026, the ship will reposition for her first Alaska season, with sailings available through 2027. Voyages are now open for booking.
