Princess Cruises has unveiled a series of exciting new features for Star Princess, the second ship in its innovative Sphere-Class series, set to debut in fall 2025.
Following in the footsteps of her sister ship, Sun Princess, the 4,300-guest cruise ship will bring enhanced dining, leisure, and entertainment options to the Princess fleet, along with a focus on sustainability.
Like Sun Princess, she will be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), a cleaner, more efficient fuel source.
Star Princess will share the same architectural features of the class, including The Sphere, a spectacular glass-enclosed Piazza at the heart of the ship, and The Dome, the first geodesic dome at sea, offering a versatile space for entertainment and relaxation.
Here’s a breakdown of the key highlights cruisers can look forward to onboard Star Princess when she debuts:
A Non-Smoking Casino Option
For cruisers who enjoy gaming but prefer a smoke-free environment, Star Princess will introduce expanded non-smoking areas in the ship’s casino. With 68 additional slot machines, guests can enjoy their favorite games in a cleaner, more comfortable setting.
This is a surely to be a welcome feature for many cruise passengers.
Expanded Dining Options
Star Princess offers a range of upgraded dining experiences. One highlight is the expansion of O’Malley’s Irish Pub, which will seat 32 more guests than Sun Princess.
This is a very popular venue! The additional seating and space will allow more cruisers to enjoy traditional Irish fare, live music, and selection of beers and whiskeys.
In addition, the exclusive dining venue Love by Britto, a collaboration between artist Romero Britto and renowned Chef Rudi Sodamin, will have 20 more seats. Here, guests can indulge in a seven-course fusion menu that combines artistic flair with fine dining.
New Leisure and Recreation Spaces
Active cruisers will appreciate the Star Princess’s SkyDeck Sports Court & Track. This new outdoor space will feature areas for popular activities like pickleball and basketball, as well as a jogging track.
Additionally, a splash pad and shaded relaxation zones make it a versatile spot for both play and relaxation, accommodating a wide range of preferences.
Accommodations for Every Cruise Traveler
With more than 2,100 staterooms, Star Princess offers a wide variety of accommodations, including 80 suites, 123 mini-suites, and over 1,000 balcony cabins. For families or groups, 100 connecting rooms are available, offering more flexibility for larger parties.
Star Princess also has the Sanctuary Collection, which includes access to the ship’s top deck retreat area, along with a host of additional and high-end amenities designed to enhance their cruise.
Available to those staying in suites, mini-suites, and deluxe balcony cabins, the Sanctuary Collection offers exclusive access to a top-deck retreat area with private dining, peaceful relaxation spaces, and a luxurious stateroom experience. The Princess Premier bundle adds further all-inclusive perks for these guests.
Star Princess Enhancements
Reflecting on the enhancements and the success of the Sphere-Class, John Padgett, president of Princess Cruises, said, “After the overwhelming response to Sun Princess, we are excited to debut her sister ship, Star Princess, with added enhancements to elevate the guest experience. From expanded non-smoking casino areas to new spaces for relaxation and recreation, Star Princess will deliver an unforgettable vacation for all when she launches in fall 2025.”
