Sharing is caring!

Last year was a blockbuster for new cruise ships, with major lines like NCL, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Celebrity, Virgin Voyages, MSC, and Disney all debuting brand-new vessels. It was one of the most exciting years cruising has seen in a long time, especially for fans who love fresh innovations, bold designs, and next-level experiences at sea.

While 2026 brings fewer new ships than the massive wave we saw in 2025, there is still plenty for cruise lovers to look forward to. In fact, one of this year’s most anticipated ships has been in development since 2018 and was originally scheduled to launch in 2025, making its arrival even more exciting.

With that in mind, here are the best new cruise ships set to debut in 2026. This post covers the newest cruise ships from popular mainstream cruise lines, luxury cruise ships, and river cruises!

MSC World Asia, debuting in December 2026, is the newest addition to MSC’s innovative World Class and one of the most anticipated cruise ships of the year. The ship blends modern design with Asian-inspired touches, immersive dining, and incredible entertainment, making it one of MSC’s most exciting vessels yet.

This brand-new cruise ship appeals to a wide range of travelers, from families and multi-generational groups to couples looking for new experiences at sea.

One of the standout features onboard MSC World Asia is its record-breaking 81.3 metre dry slide, set to become the longest dry slide at sea. Inspired by Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay trees, this thrilling ride carries guests across 12 decks in just seconds.

Food lovers will appreciate the ship’s new Southeast Asian specialty venue, offering flavours from Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Indonesia. With dine-in and grab-and-go options, plus a terrace overlooking the action, this venue brings vibrant Asian street food culture directly to sea.

MSC World Asia also introduces the largest variety of MSC Yacht Club accommodations ever built. New offerings include the Royal Duplex Suite with two bedrooms for up to six guests, spacious multi-room Owner’s Suites and Royal Suites with private whirlpool baths.

Yacht Club guests enjoy exclusive access to a private lounge, restaurant and sun deck, along with 24/7 butler and concierge service.

Like MSC World America, this new ship features seven themed districts: Family Aventura, Zen Area, Aqua Deck, The Terraces, Galleria, Promenade and the MSC Yacht Club. Each district offers its own atmosphere, amenities and experiences, allowing every guest to personalise their perfect cruise day.

Beginning 4 December 2026, MSC World Asia will sail seven night Mediterranean itineraries throughout Winter 2026 and 2027, calling in Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia for Rome, Messina and Valletta.

2. Royal Caribbean Legend of the Seas

Legend of the Seas, debuting in July 2026, is the third ship in Royal Caribbean’s groundbreaking Icon Class. Building on the success of Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas, this new ship introduces upgraded attractions, fresh entertainment and imaginative dining concepts that elevate the entire Icon Class experience.

This new Royal Caribbean ship is designed for families, couples and adventure seekers who enjoy a mix of thrills, relaxation and unforgettable entertainment at sea.

One of the biggest highlights onboard Legend of the Seas is the brand-new stage musical based on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. This colourful, high-energy production brings Willy Wonka’s world to life with immersive sets, creative choreography and Royal Caribbean’s signature Broadway-style entertainment.

Another first for the class is the Hollywoodland Supper Club, an elegant dining and entertainment venue inspired by the golden age of film. Guests can enjoy a curated menu while experiencing live performances that celebrate classic Hollywood glamour.

3. Disney Adventure

Disney Adventure, debuting in March 2026, is the largest cruise ship ever created for Disney Cruise Line and one of the most anticipated new ships of the decade. Its origin story is unlike any other modern cruise ship.

Construction first began back in 2018 for a different cruise brand before the project was cancelled. Disney later purchased the unfinished vessel in 2022 and completely redesigned it from the inside out, transforming it into a massive, next generation Disney ship with brand new technology, storytelling spaces and themed experiences created specifically for this vessel.

Although Disney Adventure was originally scheduled to launch in December 2025, shipyard delays pushed the debut into early 2026. The extra time allowed Disney to enhance and refine many of the ship’s onboard experiences.

Disney Adventure introduces seven fully themed areas that bring Disney, Marvel and Pixar stories to sea in an entirely new way. Disney Imagination Garden serves as the heart of the ship, a three deck high open space designed for live shows and celebrations.

Guests can explore Marvel Landing with attractions like the Ironcycle Test Run roller coaster, Pym Quantum Racers and Groot Galaxy Spin. Toy Story Place adds family fun with the Sunnyside Family Pool, Woody and Jess’s Wild Slides and a vibrant splash zone.

Wayfinder Bay offers an open air pool area inspired by Moana, complete with tiered seating and a large screen for entertainment. Nearby, San Fransokyo Street from Big Hero 6 features interactive arcades, simulators and a Hero Training Zone for active play.

The ship also introduces new entertainment, including Broadway style shows like Remember, a musical inspired by Wall E that combines powerful visuals with Disney’s signature storytelling.

As the first Disney Cruise Line ship to be based in Asia, Disney Adventure will sail year round from Singapore, bringing an entirely new Disney cruising experience to families across the region.
